Before Discharge
Before you leave the hospital, you should make sure that your account is completely settled, your personal belongings including flowers and gift items are collected, and that you have clearly discussed with your doctor your medication plan. Once your consultant is completely satisfied with your state of health and feels that you are well enough to leave the hospital, you will be discharged.

Discharge
On the day of departure, you are requested to vacate the room by 11:00am in order to ensure that the room is ready for the next patient’s admission. An additional cost will be charged to patients occupying rooms after 11:00am on their day of departure. Should you wish to occupy your room after this time, then you have to refer to the In-patient Director.

Pre-Admission:
To ensure a prompt admission, we recommend that you bring the following:

Patient ID card or identity of the delegate.
Any medication you take at home.
A list of current medications and dosages.
Copies of medical information (x-rays, records etc)
Your insurance (or sponsor) details – including your completed insurance claim form (if not already submitted) and the pre-authorization number your insurer has given to you.
Items to help pass the time (books, magazines, writing materials etc)
Nightwear, dressing gown.
Slippers.
Toiletries (the clinic provides standard personal items such as towels and soap).
If you have dentures, eyeglasses, contact lenses or hearing aids.
Don’t bring any valuables, jewelry, credit cards or large amounts of money. The hospital will not assume any responsibility for loss of these valuables.
Don’t bring any electrical appliances.

Your Arrival:
Upon arrival, make your way to the admission office on the ground floor. You will be welcomed by one of our receptionists, who will request you to fill in an admission form. Then direct you to one of our admission staff, who will check all your personal and insurance details, explain the hospital’s policies and procedures, and take deposits where appropriate.

Your Room Services:
All in-patient rooms are equipped to comfortable standards and contain a color television with a comprehensive range of satellite channels, refrigerator, telephone, and bedside control panel to call a member of staff. You are assigned a room based upon the type of care your doctor recommends. If you request an upgrade, we will make every effort to honor that request. You will be asked to sign a form stating you agree to pay the entire difference between the cost of the upgrade and the amount reimbursed by your insurance company.

We want you to be totally satisfied with the level of care and facilities at Bakhsh hospitals during your stay with us. If you would like to comment on any aspect of our service, then please inform the floor nurse. A time can then be arranged for our patient relations representative, or a more relevant staff member to resolve any problems you may have, or to discuss the points you may wish to bring to our attention.
Meals & specials diets

Meal times:
Breakfast from 7:00am
Lunch from 12noon
Dinner from 6:30p.m
If you would like to order an extra meal for your visitor, please call 5404 or 5604.

Special diets
If you require a special diet, please let us know. We have a wide range of specialist menus to meet any dietary requirement (diabetic, salt-free, etc.). In addition, we also offer a dietetic service that can provide you with a personal meal plan. If you wish to talk to one of our nutritionists, please contact Food Services on 5808.

RULES AND POLICIES

Smoking Policy
Bakhsh Hospitals have a strict smoke-free policy. Smoking is prohibited in all hospital floors and buildings.

Mobile Telephones
The use of mobile phones is restricted in certain areas of the hospital. Please read and follow posted signs for mobile phone use.

Room Telephone
Each in-patient room has its own telephone extension. There is no charge for local telephone calls. Long distance calls on the other hand, will be included in your final bill.

Confidentiality & Security
All our data and medical records are carefully kept in total confidentiality. Bakhsh hospital is set up to ensure the privacy of the individual and to protect patients from press enquiries.


SPECIAL SERVICES

Home care
We can arrange for care assistants or special nursing staff to take care of you at home. Accounts will be invoiced directly to you from our Home Care Department. For more information please call ext. 5639

Newspapers and magazines
Daily Newspapers are available in the hospital and housekeeping department offer them for free.

Secretarial services
The hospital can arrange faxing and photocopying for you, if necessary during your stay. Please ask your nurse for details.

Banking
ATM machines are located on the ground floor facing the emergency entrance.

Flower and Gift Shops
There are several flower and gift shops available on the main lobby of the Hospital building. These shops offer a variety of gift items to suit all tastes.

Lost & found
Lost and found is located in the security office in the first floor of the main hospital building. Please call 1110 or 5214.

Social Services
Social workers help you and your family cope with the stress of illness and being in the hospital. Social workers provide you with emotional support, short-term counseling, and information and referral sources in the community. To see a social worker, call the Social Services department on ext. 5629

Coffee Shop
Located on the second floor of the hospital's main building, the coffee shop offers a calm setting to relax away from the hospital environment. Patients and Visitors can enjoy a wide range of sandwiches, cakes, and light meals served with a choice of hot or cold beverages.
